Lemon Bread
Ingredients
1 C. sugar 1 t. baking powder
6 T. butter 1/2 C. milk
rind of 1 lemon, grated juice of 1 lemon
2 eggs 1/2 C. sugar
1 1/2 C. flour
Cream together the 1 C. sugar, butter, lemon rind, and eggs.
Sift flour with baking powder. Add dry ingredients alternately
with the milk to the creamed mixture. Pour into a greased and
floured bread pan and bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Mix the
lemon juice with the remaining sugar, pour over the bread
immediately after removing it from the oven. Cool in the
pan.
